When changes are made to a sole trader activity’s objects, by law a new declaration or application for authorisation to carry on business must be submitted to the Business Development Agency (DDE).
Understanding the process
Whenever changes are made to a sole trader activity’s objects, a new declaration must be submitted or authorisation to carry on business issued, as provided by the final paragraph of Article 5 of Act no. 1,144 of 26 July 1991.
Formalities
If the change to the sole trader activity’s objects involves an activity that falls within the remit of the Department of Health Affairs, the application will need to be pre-approved by that authority.
To change your activity’s objects, you will need to complete an application for declaration of a change to the activity objects
The declaration is reserved exclusively for persons of Monegasque nationality.
To get the form you can either:
- Download it here:
- Collect it from the Business Development Agency
If applicable, you will also need to provide a certificate from the Department of Health Affairs.
The application for declaration of a change to the activity objects must be submitted to the Business Development Agency.
It is returned with a receipt, dated and signed by the Minister of State, within two weeks from the date of submission of the declaration.
When you have received the receipt confirming that your declaration has been submitted, you will need to do the following: Amend registration details on the RCI for businesses.
The entry in the register will be updated after the declaration is submitted.
To change your activity’s objects, you will need to complete an application for authorisation of a change to the activity objects.
The authorisation is reserved for persons of foreign nationality.
To get the form you can either:

If applicable, you will also need to provide a certificate from the Department of Health Affairs.
The application for authorisation must be submitted to the Business Development Agency.
The statutory period for review of the application is forty-five days from notification of its eligibility.
When you have received the receipt confirming that your authorisation been submitted, you will need to do the following: Amend registration details on the RCI for businesses
The entry in the register will be updated after the authorisation is submitted.
