Principle
Government incentives for owners of ecological vehicles are not limited to subsidies at the time of purchase . They also relate to the daily use of the vehicle.
These incentives are available to both individuals and businesses.
They may be awarded for the purchase of a clean or low-polluting vehicle which:
- They must be new or previously registered as demonstration vehicles for less than a year by a dealer. Proof must be provided (copy of original registration certificate)
- They must be registered in Monaco (with the exception of bikes with a maximum power of 250 W)
- Belong to a Monegasque resident or a company domiciled in Monaco
Standard subsidies
The subsidy applies to the following vehicles:
- Electric or hybrid (electric/petrol) motor vehicles with at least four wheels and CO2 emissions of less than or equal to 110g/km
- Electric or hybrid (electric/petrol) two-wheel or three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles with CO2 emissions of less than or equal to 45g/km
- Electric bicycles which do not have a lead battery
Amount of subsid:
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 61 to 110: €3000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 51 to 60: €5000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 21 to 50: €6000
- CO2 emissions in g/km ≤20: 30% of price including tax up to a maximum of €10,000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 21 to 50: €800
- CO2 emissions in g/km ≤20 : 30% of price including tax
- CO2 emissions in g/km ≤20 : 30% of price including tax up to a maximum of €400
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 61 to 110: + €3000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 51 to 60: + €3000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 21 to 50: + €3000
- CO2 emissions in g/km ≤20: + €3000
Temporary additional incentivee
As part of the economic recovery plan, eco-friendly vehicles purchased in Monaco between 14 October 2020 and 30 June 2021 are eligible for an additional subsidy.
The subsidy applies to the following vehicles:
- Electric or hybrid (electric/petrol) motor vehicles with at least four wheels and CO2 emissions of less than 60g/km AND with a base price, excluding options, of less than €50,000, including tax
- Electric two-wheel, three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles
- Electric bicycles which do not have a lead battery
Amount of subsid:
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 61 to 110: €3000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 51 to 60: €5000 + €4000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 21 to 50: €6000 + €4000
- CO2 emissions in g/km ≤20: 30% of price including tax to a maximum of €10,000 + €4000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 21 to 50: €800
- CO2 emissions in g/km ≤20 : 40% of price including tax to a maximum of €4,500
CO2 emissions in g/km ≤20 : 30% of price including tax up to a maximum of €700
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 61 to 110: + €3000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 51 to 60: + €3000
- CO2 emissions in g/km from 21 to 50: + €3000
- CO2 emissions in g/km ≤20: + €3000

Exemption from annual sticker
Electric vehicles are exempt from the annual car sticker provided that their owners (individuals or companies) have their main place of residence (or registered office) in the Principality of Monaco.
Parking
- Monaco Town Hall allows electric vehicles to park for free on public roads.
- Reduced parking charges are available for public car park season-ticket holders who drive a clean or low-polluting vehicle that emits less than 110g/km of CO2
Installing a charging point in a car park
- Public car parks: season-ticket holders who have a reserved space in a public car park can have a charging point installed for their use. Please contact the Public Car Parks Office (Phone +377 98 98 8049 or spp@gouv.mc )
