The Economic Expansion Department becomes the Economic Development Department
The Economic Expansion Department is being reorganised as the Economic Development Department.
This reorganisation has several major objectives in line with the main missions of the Department:
- To improve the quality of reception, service and follow-up of users
- To improve and simplify the business creation process
- To give more visibility and coherence to the Directorate's missions
- Respond to the challenges of combating money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The new organisation now comprises three divisions
- the Business Creation and Development Unit, which will bring together all business and trade-oriented missions (creation, financing and development of the economy, actions in favour of trade and industry). In order to give a better visibility to these missions, this Centre will be called MONACO BUSINESS OFFICE. This entity will be an asset in terms of visibility and attractiveness in order to offer dedicated support to new entrepreneurs and established companies.
- the Compliance, Control and Registration Unit, which will structure and coordinate the missions that meet the challenges of combating money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
- the Intellectual Property Unit
In order to embody this new organisation, the Directorate has been renamed the Economic Development Directorate. This name, which is more explicit for all economic players, better reflects the Department's missions, which essentially contribute to the Principality's economic development (Creation of economic structures, Financing and Development of the economy, Intellectual Property, etc.).
The Department of Economic Development welcomes you from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm in its offices located at 9, rue du Gabian.
