The Public Buildings Maintenance Office, whose role is to maintain, renovate or rehabilitate the country’s property assets, both old and new, offers a guide to help you select appropriate eco-friendly materials for maintenance work (or small-scale construction of new buildings) carried out as part of its mission.
This guide to eco materials is structured in such a way that it allows you to select materials consistent with an environmental approach, while also providing information on the advantages and disadvantages of these products.

It also contains:

  • Reminders and references to regulations and basic concepts (for example on thermal energy or acoustics)
  • Revision of technical aspects
  • Advice on selection of materials
  • Generic "product datasheets"
  • Suggested products (non-exhaustive list), with links to the websites of major manufacturers, broken down into the following categories:
              - Structural masonry work
              - Exterior joinery
              - Partitions, linings, suspended ceilings
              - Painting, finishing, coating
              - Sanitary facilities
              - Lighting

Materials and equipment have been chosen with the aim of responding to technical and environmental concerns (thermal, acoustic and environmental characteristics, durability, label or certification) and satisfy the demands of the main certification processes relating to construction or renovation, such as CERQUAL, CERTIVEA, CERWAY, BREEAM or LEED.
