Understanding the process
Under the provisions of Article 22-7 of Act no. 1.362 of 3 Agust 2009, amendedand without prejudice to articles 63-1 to 63-3 of Sovereign Ordinance no 2.318 of 3 August 2009, amendedinformation in the register of beneficial owners relating to the name, month and year of birth, country of residence and nationality of a beneficial owner, and the nature and scope of their interests, can be shared with individuals who apply to consult it, once the relevant legal entity and beneficial owners have been informed and in accordance with the conditions set out below.
In terms of sharing the information, no extract from the register will be issued. Instead, individuals may consult the register on site, subject to payment of a fee of 500 euros. Only the information noted above can be consulted and a civil servant from the Trade and Industry Registry department will be present.
Without prejudice to Article 22-8 of Act no. 1.362 of 3 August 2009, amendednoted above, the information cannot be consulted until two months after the relevant legal entity and beneficial owners have been notified of the application by the Trade and Industry Registry department
The legal entity and beneficial owners concerned may, as appropriate, seek to restrict access to all or part of the information about them by applying to the Minister of State or by petitioning the President of the Court of First Instance.
The application must be completed in duplicate and signed by the applicant, who should submit it to the Registry personally or via an authorised representative with a special power of attorney attached to the application. Applications which have not been duly completed and/or are not accompanied by the required supporting documents will be rejected by the Registry.

You must include the following documents with your application for it to be considered admissible:
- The duly completed form, signed on the original
- A copy of the front and back of a valid national identity card belonging to the signatory
The request must be submitted to the reception desk of the Trade and Industry Registry of the Business Development Agency.
If you receive the relevant approval, the Registry will send you a letter stating the date and time of your appointment. You will need to bring your invitation, proof of identity and a means of payment to your appointment. Only the person who signed the application may consult the information.
If a request has been made to restrict access, you will receive a letter notifying you of this restriction.
