In accordance with article 7 of
, individuals must first have been granted clearance before they will be allowed access to classified information or materials. Decisions to grant clearance will be made on the basis of a thorough investigation conducted by the Police Department using the information supplied in the personal form completed by the applicant. Moreover, requests for security clearance may only be submitted by applicants holding posts listed in a catalogue of those requiring access to classified information or materials (the catalogue of posts).For more information, see the
The "area to be completed by the applicant" on the personal form must be completed. Your printed and signed form should be sent to the security officer in your organisation, together with a recent identity photograph.
Individuals will be notified of the decision regarding their clearance by the security officer. Individuals granted clearance will then sign an undertaking of responsibility. In the event that clearance is denied, individuals will be informed of the negative decision.
The validity period of the clearance depends on the level of clearance requested.
