Any amendment of the data pertaining to the operator or to their establishment mentioned during registration on the Trade and Industry Registry (RCI) or any other additional information which is legally required, must, by law, be declared to the Trade and Industry Directory.
Understanding the process
Any modifications to basic information must be registered, by a natural or registered legal person, via an additional or amending declaration in view of its publication in the Trade and Industry Registry (RCI).
Declarations must be made to the RCI department no later than one month after receiving the acknowledgement of the declaration of intent or administrative authorisation relating to the modification. Declarations must be accompanied by the documents required to establish the accuracy of the modified information.
This period may be extended by the Director of the Business Development Agency for a period determined by them based on a motivated and justified request.
Additional or amending information to be modified (non-exhaustive list):
- Change or amendment of the activity
- Change or appointment of a person with the authority to hold the said trader liable
- Change of surname, first name, any alternative name or pseudonym, personal address, nationality, family circumstances and matrimonial regime of the trader or the person with the authority to hold the said trader liable
- Opening of a second activity and/or additional premises
- Transfer or closure of a secondary establishment or additional premises, located in Monaco
- Registration, modification or deletion of an establishment
- Management of a business or transfer of management
- Concession or revocation of the powers of any person who has the ability to hold the said trader liable
- Change of a credit institution in Monaco where a deposit account is held
- Death of the trader
- Appointment of a receiver
- Final judgement granting or rejecting the application for separation of assets
- Final judgement pronouncing the separation or divorce of spouses
- Final judgement declaring the nullity of the marriage
- Deed reestablishing the marital property which was dissolved by judicial separation or separation of property
- Death of spouse (date and place)
- Partial discontinuation of activity

In support of the application to modify basic information, you must provide the following supporting documents, with the exception of documents already submitted during the application for administrative authorisation (non-exhaustive list given for information purposes):
- For Monegasque nationals, a copy of a national ID card or passport
- For residents in Monaco, a copy of a residence permit and a copy of an ID card or passport
- For non-residents, a copy of an ID card or passport
In the event of multiple nationalities, submit a copy of each ID document.
- Proof of address dated of less than 3 months
- For Monegasque nationals: a copy of a national ID card or passport
- For residents in Monaco: a copy of a residence permit and a copy of an ID card or passport
- For non-residents: a copy of an ID card or passport

- A nationality certificate or equivalent document
- For Monegasque nationals: a copy of a national ID card or passport

- For non-residents: a copy of an ID card or passport. In the event of multiple nationalities, submit a copy of each ID document
- Original birth certificate or marriage certificate on which is listed the divorce or separation or a copy of the divorce ruling or separation
- A copy of the letter of acceptance of repudiation by the relevant authority or a copy of the letter stating the deprivation of nationality from the relevant authority
- Original marriage certificate on which is mentioned the matrimonial regime or a copy of the marital agreement or copy of the ruling approving the matrimonial regime
- Original birth certificate or marriage certificate on which is listed the divorce or separation or a copy of the divorce ruling or separation
- Management agreement registered by the Department of Tax Services
- Publication in the Journal de Monaco
- Publication in the Journal de Monaco
The following modifications will require the filing of a declaration or a request for authorisation prior to all formalities with the Trade and Industry Registry (non-exhaustive list):
- Opening or transfer of a secondary establishment/additional premises
- Management of a business
- Modification of an activity
- Transfer of an activity
Supporting documents must be submitted in French, and, where applicable, translated and certified true by the registrant. Only supporting documents in French is deemed authentic.
When the submitted supporting document is a copy, it is declared to be certified by the registrant.
Additional supporting documents may be requested of the registrant as the RCI department deems necessary.
The application must comprise the completed, dated and signed forms, in duplicate, and supporting documents.
It must be submitted or sent off to the Trade and Industry Directory at the Business Development Agency (9 rue du Gabian - opening hours 9:30am - 5:00pm). The application should be accompanied by payment of the €25 fee for making changes to a registration. This can be paid by cheque made payable to the “RCI” (Trade and Industry Directory), or in cash or bank card to the counter of the service.
Postage costs are added to these fees for making changes to a registration if you want some documents to be sent to you (copy of the form for making changes to a registration, extract from the Trade and Industry Directory).
