Understanding the process
The trader (or their assignees) must request their removal within the month that follow the total and definitive sale of the business.
Specific cases: (non-exhaustive list)
- Sale of the business: the trader registered with the RCI who sells their business may only invoke the sale of their commercial activity to avoid liability claims against them for obligations contracted by the buyer from the day on which the removal is recorded in the Trade and Industry Directory
- Withdrawal of permit to carry out a business or revocation of the effect of a statement: The trader must request their removal when their decision is definite, meaning that they are not likely to go back on their decision

You must provide the following documents:
1) In the event of the sale of a business or leasehold rights:
- Publication in the Journal de Monaco
- The registered deed of sale
2) In the event of the death of the trader:
- Original death certificate
3) In the event of early termination or the end of a free management contract:
- Publication in the Journal de Monaco
4) If the application for removal is filed by a representative:
- Mandate
- A copy of the representative’s ID card, passport or residence permit or original birth certificate or marriage certificate
Supporting documents must be submitted in French, and, where applicable, translated and certified true by the registrant. Only supporting documents in French is deemed authentic.
When the submitted supporting document is a copy, it is declared to be certified by the registrant. Additional supporting documents may be requested of the registrant as the Trade and Industry Directory deems necessary.

It is up to individuals to carry out the necessary research or to contact local professionals about the conditions for carrying out the activity and any related consequences (tax, accounting, etc.).
The application must comprise the completed, dated and signed forms, in duplicate, as well as the above-mentioned documents.
It must be submitted or sent off to Trade and Industry Directory, accompanied by payment of the €25 for the registration fees.
Postage costs must be added to this fee if documents are mailed (e.g. a copy of the form, an extract).
This can be paid by cheque made payable to the "RCI" (Trade and Industry Directory), or in cash or bank card to the counter of the service.
