STARTING AND MANAGING A BUSINESS

Understanding the process

The activities listed below must be registered with the Business Development Agency by following the procedure described in subsequent paragraphs.

Licensed professionals
Associations, Federations, Foundations
Rental of premises/subletting, joint ownership
Professional independent artist or occasional artists

Licensed professionals

The "declaration of registration for Statistical Identification Number" form, duly completed and signed
Photocopy of the Monaco identity card or the residence permit
Medical and paramedical professions, legal professions: Photocopy of the publication in the "Journal de Monaco" of the Decree or Sovereign Ordinance or of the authorisation issued by the Director of the Business Development Agency authorising the practice of the profession in the Principality. Please note: In the case of a medical profession carried out on a one-off or occasional basis within a healthcare establishment based in the Principality, a copy of the authorisation issued by the Department of Health Affairs
Accounting professions, veterinary surgeons and architects: Photocopy of the publication in the "Journal de Monaco" of the Decree or Sovereign Ordinance authorising the practice of the profession in the Principality

Associations, Federations, Foundations

The "declaration of registration for Statistical Identification Number" form, duly completed and signed
Photocopy of articles of association
Photocopy of the approval or of the receipt of declaration published in the official Journal de Monaco
Photocopy of the Monaco Identity Card or the residence permit of the organisation’s President

Rental of lock-up garages/parking spaces, rental of unequipped premises for commercial, industrial or administrative use

The "declaration of registration for Statistical Identification Number" form, duly completed and signed
Photocopy of the National Identity Card or the residence permit of the natural person owner of the property or manager of the legal person owning the property
Photocopy of the deed of ownership of the property(s) or notarized certificate of their property
Photocopy of the rental agreement or rental agreement project, or failing that declaration of intent to rent

Subletting of a property that is not for residential use

The "declaration of registration for Statistical Identification Number" form, duly completed and signed
Photocopy of the National Identity Card or the residence permit of the lessor (natural person or manager of the legal person)
Photocopy of the rental agreement
Photocopy of the owner’s authorisation
Photocopy of the sublet rental agreement

Joint ownership

The "declaration of registration for Statistical Identification Number" form, duly completed and signed
Photocopy of joint ownership arrangement registered with the Mortgage Service
Photocopy of the power of attorney for the management of jointly owned property if the proxy is a professional (managing agent, etc...)

Professional Independent Artist

The "declaration of registration for Statistical Identification Number" form, duly completed and signed
A photocopy of the Monaco identity card or the residence permit
Photocopy of the lease for the premises if the activity is not carried out at home
Photocopy of API (Professional Independent Artist) certification issued by the Department of Cultural Affairs

Occasional artists

Photocopy of certification issued by the Department of Cultural Affairs
The "declaration of registration for Statistical Identification Number" form, duly completed and signed
Photocopy of the Monaco identity card or the residence permit
Photocopy of the lease for the premises if the activity is not carried out at home

Once you have completed your application, you can submit it to the Business Development Agency:

Or by email to: mbo@gouv.mc

Once your registration is complete, a certificate of registration in the NIS Register will be issued to you directly by Monaco Statistics within five working days.
