In the event of the loss or theft of registration plates, the holder is required to inform the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office immediately.
Understanding the process
In the event of the loss or theft of one of the two registration plates of a motor vehicle, motorcycle, moped of 50-100 cc, tricycle, quadricycle, moped of under 50 cc or trailer, the holder is required to inform the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office immediately. It is strongly recommended to apply for a new registration with a new number, to prevent any fraudulent use of the lost or stolen plates for which the owner could be held liable.
If the owner of the vehicle does not wish to obtain a new registration, they must provide a handwritten discharge of liability.
There is a fee associated with this service - Please see
