NEWS RELEASE

The Ministry of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development of the Prince’s Government has announced a call for applications for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a transportation system composed primarily of a car park located in "La Brasca" in the towns of Eze and La Turbie, along with an underground express link between this location and Monaco*.

The complex will include a car park with approximately 3,500 parking spots; a passenger train station; the space necessary for the parking and maintenance of the rolling stock and a space for logistical distribution operations (storage, consolidation/deconsolidation, higher-volume deliveries); an underground link connecting the La Brasca site to Monaco with a minimum of one underground passenger station located within Monaco, to be developed between the Charles III city block and Place d’Armes; infrastructure and rolling stock equipment – automatic if possible, to be determined as part of studies for the design of a transportation system with an initial capacity of 2,400 passengers per hour and in each direction.

The system will not necessarily be used to transport freight. However, proposals that include freight services may be submitted.

Only one station is currently planned within Monaco, between the Charles III city block and Place d’Armes. Proposals for the extension of the line and/or the creation of other stations in Monegasque territory may be submitted by applicants as part of negotiations. In all cases, applicants must ensure that the chosen equipment and the size capacity of the infrastructure and equipment will permit an extension at a later time, both in France and Monaco.

Special attention will be paid to the project’s compatibility with the local environment, residents, sites and landscapes, as well as the sustainable management of energy and waste both during the building and operational phases.

Implementation of the project will be subject to a bilateral agreement signed beforehand between France and Monaco.

Following the selection of qualified applicants, detailed information on the project’s various elements and requirements will be provided in a consultation file to applicants invited to submit an offer, prior to negotiations.

Applications must be sent by registered post with acknowledgement of receipt or delivered by hand (a receipt will be provided) no later than 28 February 2025 at 12pm to the following address:

Département de l’Equipement, de l’Environnement et de l’Urbanisme (Ministry of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development)
Ministère d’Etat (Ministry of State)
Place de la Visitation – BP 522
