An apprenticeship contract (also commonly referred to as a sandwich course) consists of alternating between in-company training and theoretical training in order to obtain a State-recognised qualification. Its duration must therefore be the same as the time required to study for the qualification.
Understanding the process
This apprenticeship contract is for young people from 16 to 26 years old, whatever their level of studies, wishing to continue their training (from "CAP" to postgraduate level) whilst benefiting from professional experience.
If you are looking for a future apprentice, you should first contact the Youth Employment Unit and inform them that you would like to recruit a young person on an apprenticeship, specifying the type of training offered and the kind of candidate you are seeking.
You will need to complete an apprenticeship offer form so that the Youth Employment Unit can send you the details of priority applicants.
To obtain this offer form, you can either:
- Download it here:
- Or Collect it from the Employment Office or the Youth Employment Unit
You should then submit your apprenticeship offer to the Youth Employment Unit.
The Youth Employment Unit will send you priority applicants whose profiles match your offer.
Once an applicant has been selected and approved by the Youth Employment Unit, you need to complete four original copies of the attached "Apprenticeship Contract" (French only):
You should return the paperwork to the Youth Employment Unit, which will register it and issue a work permit to the young apprentice.
