Understanding the process
A driven car service may, when trade requirements justify this, rent additional vehicles, which are referred to as auxiliary vehicles, at a rate of one auxiliary vehicle to two main vehicles when justified by commercial needs.
Auxiliary vehicles must have undergone an approved technical inspection in the 6 months prior to the time when they are put into service, unless they are less than one year old at the time when they are first put into service.
Auxiliary vehicles must comply with the technical characteristics set out in Article 27 of Ordinance no. 1.720 of 04 July 2008 relating to the regulation of taxis, chauffeur-driven vehicles, official city vehicles and motorcycles on request.
The use of auxiliary chauffeur-driven vehicles is subject to authorisation.
This authorisation is valid for a maximum of 15 days. It is allocated to a single vehicle during the period in question and mentions its make, registration number and the name of the lessor.
The authorisation consists of a coupon that can be cut out and affixed to the right of the windscreen, thus making it easier to recognise the auxiliary private hire vehicle.
There is a fee associated with this service - Please see
