NEWS RELEASE

On Thursday 28 March, the Prince’s Government and Carlo met with retail partners of the app at MonacoTech.

The meeting was held to review the excellent results of the scheme since its launch in December 2020; the Government’s ongoing commitment to cover platform fees, and changes to the referral programme.

The scheme has been a huge success and the app, which generated more than one million purchases in 2023, now boasts 653 partner shops and 65,000 users, around 60% of whom are residents of neighbouring communes and/or commuters.

Given these results and with continued determination to support local businesses, the Government has decided to continue to cover the app’s platform fees until 31 March 2025. This decision means that fees for retail partners will not rise beyond the 1% paid since 1 April 2023.

To ensure the sustainability of this virtuous economic circle, Carlo is stepping up its referral programme and will offer a €5 cashback credit for every new referral. Promotional schemes will also be offered periodically to reward referral commitment. The existing referral system will end on 31 March 2024. Cashback credit generated until that date will be conserved.

The Government is delighted with the partnership with Carlo and retail partners, which contributes to the dynamism of the Principality’s economy.
