Understanding the process
Certificates are valid for three years from the date of issue and must be renewed before the expiry date. Renewal will entail a payment of 120€ and is not subject to VAT.
You will receive an email reminder from the Business Development Agency 45, 30 and 15 days before your certificate expires.
A certificate must also be renewed if it is compromised, i.e. in the event that your smart card is lost or stolen, or if your PIN has been divulged to someone else.
In this case, you will need to first cancel the relevant certificate, before renewing it.
For full details of how to cancel a certificate, see the dedicated procedure here.
For any renewal, the identification and validation procedure for the renewal application is identical to the procedure used during the initial registration.
For full details of the initial procedure, see the dedicated factsheet here.
Just as you did when your certificate was issued, please address your request for an appointment to renew a certificate to the Business Development Agency by email to the following address esign@gouv.mc
If your registration documents are complete, a new certificate will be issued to you at this appointment.
